OpenInfra Foundation News

  • Please welcome new OpenInfra Foundation Silver Member CECloud.
  • On September 8-9, OpenInfra Summit Asia | KubeCon | CloudNativeCon will take place in Shanghai. This flagship event unites adopters, technologists, and community members from across the region to drive innovation in open source infrastructure and cloud native computing around common, industry-wide use cases like nextgen AI. Over two days, CNCF projects will collaborate with the OpenInfra community across dozens of open technologies, including two of the most active open source projects to exist, Kubernetes and OpenStack, to shape the future of open source software and technology as a whole.

OpenInfra Summit

OpenStack: Open source software for creating private and public clouds

  • OSSA-2025-002 (CVE-2025-65073) shared a security flaw in OpenStack Keystone’s ec2tokens and s3tokens APIs. Affected environments should be upgraded or patched at the earliest opportunity.
  • Monasca (monitoring as a service), last released in the 2023.2/Bobcat cycle, has officially been retired from OpenStack. Venus (log management) and Vitrage (root cause analysis) services are being considered inactive for 2026.1/Gazpacho due to a lack of volunteers to lead those teams, and will be retired in the future if the situation doesn’t improve.

Kata Containers: The speed of containers, the security of VMs

  • The new Kata Containers 3.23 release is now available!
  • The overview of the Kata Containers PTG sessions are now available on the project’s blog.

OpenDev: Free software needs free tools

  • The OpenDev team will be upgrading Gerrit on review.opendev.org to Gerrit 3.11 on December 7, 2025 at 21:00 UTC. See the announcement for more details.
